This module will prepare you to work with patients with intellectual disabilities and mental disorders. You will learn about intellectual and mental disorders, the unique needs of intellectually disabled patients and the health disparities affecting the intellectually disabled. Methods to improve safety and quality for these patients are discussed, as well as legal standards and regulations.
