Advanced Practice Radiation Therapy (APRT) is no longer theoretical, and the field of radiation therapy is just beginning its evolution. This presentation describes the process used by the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center for defining the APRT in the Division of Radiation Oncology and the School of Health Professions. The entry-level radiation therapists’ Practice Standards and ARRT content specifications will also be compared to an APRT Comprehensive Competency Profile developed at MD Anderson Cancer Center.
