IV contrast media is commonly used in radiology, and this presentation will provide an overview of IV contrast media pharmacology and history. Patient considerations such as preparation, allergies, medical conditions, and medications will be discussed. Techniques for IV access as well as the use of power injectors will be explained. Finally, identification and treatment of patient reactions to IV contrast media will be provided.
