This panel will discuss how artificial intelligence (AI) uses computer programs and models based on networks of databases in a process that teaches computers. The group will review how AI, machine learning (ML), and deep learning (DL) programs could affect the medical imaging and radiation therapy workforce, and how AI-enabled machines learn, adapt, and perform tasks previously thought to require human cognitive functions. Additionally, the presentation will cover perceived potential outcomes and improvements to patient care techniques using these systems. Procedural accuracy, efficiency, diagnosis, and increased patient throughput using AI, ML, and DL also will be discussed.
