Thrombotic disorders occur when blood clots form in the circulatory system and cause blockages in arteries or veins. Learning about these disorders, knowing how they are diagnosed and treated, and identifying which patients are at the greatest risk is crucial for radiologic technologists. With the use of various medical imaging modalities, radiologists can visualize a blood clot in the patient’s circulatory system, allowing for a diagnosis and treatment plan to be formed.
