The purpose of this course is to review and understand the healthcare approach to providing atraumatic care for cognitive special-need patients, particularly patients with Alzheimer’s disease. Alzheimer’s disease is a progressive cognitive disease which impairs memory and mental functionality. This course will review Alzheimer’s disease progression, the role medical imaging plays in its diagnosis, and how to apply atraumatic care techniques as they relate to the radiology sector toward patients with Alzheimer’s disease.
