This presentation will define medical ethics and discuss ways that they can be referenced to achieve the goal of preventing injury to patients from avoidable, negligent actions. The speaker will describe ethical theories for decision making, as well as discuss how medical professionals can use rules of conduct to make sound judgments, anticipate and recognize health care dilemmas, and make good decisions based on values consistent with the law and professional standards.
