Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in women. Magnetic resonance imaging as a method of detecting breast cancer alongside mammography and sonography has become the gold standard for examining lesions that appear suspicious in the initial mammography examination. Diffusion-weighted imaging could supplement mammography as a safe screening tool without exposure to radiation and the use of gadolinium contrast media.
