The radiation safety program used by the U.S. Navy is described, along with the impact of nuclear testing on local populations through 1992. Advances in the peaceful use of nuclear power, propulsion and related technology are linked to weapons development. Finally, a sobering assessment is given of our current global risk, environmental and personal radiation effects, and what it all has to do with radiographers.
