Ewing sarcoma is a rare bone and soft tissue tumor that typically occurs in children and adolescents. It is often caused by a chromosomal translocation that leads to gene fusion and ultimately cancer. Imaging is essential for the diagnosis, staging, and treatment of Ewing sarcoma. Treatments include chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation therapy. Because of the young age at which patients with this cancer receive a diagnosis, long-term follow-up is essential. This article discusses the epidemiology, etiology, diagnosis and staging, and treatment of Ewing sarcoma.
