Radiologic Technologists, much like other professionals, are often finding themselves immersed in a workplace governed by information technology. It has become necessary to understand how these systems operate and interact in order to be a successful technologist. This presentation will give an overview of some basic computer and networking principles, then delve into the fundamentals of PACS, RIS and imaging informatics. A solid understanding of these elements will allow the learner to work more effectively in a technology-driven environment, and ultimately lead to higher quality health care.
