This presentation explains how to complete a DXA scan from start to finish. It will cover the patient questionnaire, how the questionnaire results affect the scan, and what to do if a patient does not know the answers to a question. It also will discuss what to do if a patient’s anatomy does not allow the technologist to scan a particular body part, when to make adjustments, when to delete parts of a scan, and when to add an additional scan. Comparative scans and positioning are also covered.

In addition, this presentation covers analysis of DXA scans, both in process and when dealing with the result of the scans. It will discuss comparisons depending on patient demographics and when and how to use the FRAX tool.
