This presentation will review patient care and safety material from the 2017 ARRT Fluoroscopy examination content specifications in the areas of patient interactions and management and radiation protection. Topics include patient identification, informed consent, patient education, cumulative dose education and pregnancy status. Contrast reactions, patient records, standards of care and HIPAA are also discussed. Radiation protection topics include minimizing patient exposure in fluoroscopy and personnel protection. Lastly, the new training requirements of The Joint Commission will be covered.
