This presentation provides a review of atomic structure, nomenclature, and definitions to reinforce foundations of atomic theory and impart a strong understanding of the processes governing radioactivity. The principles of atomic number and mass number as they relate to neutrons and protons are presented, as well as explanations of sources of radiation, dose measurements, and types of radioactive decay.
