Cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging is a noninvasive method to image cardiac anatomy and function. It can be used alone or with other imaging modalities. The use of late gadolinium-enhanced CMR in routine cardiac imaging is advantageous, specifically for visualizing small infarcts in the myocardium. CMR produces high-resolution cardiac structure images and detects compromised areas that have the potential to be overlooked by other imaging techniques.
This quiz is the companion to the column “Late Gadolinium Enhancement in Cardiovascular MR Imaging,” which appears in the September/October 2019 Radiologic Technology journal.
