Because of the inherent risk associated with working with radiation, radiologic technologists must safeguard themselves from unnecessary exposure. If it is likely they will be exposed to more than 10% of the recommended annual dose limit, they must wear a monitoring device to record their exposure. This article details several types of dosimeters and their advantages and disadvantages.
