This article explains how MDCT is used to exclude clinically significant cervical spine injuries, and how MR imaging should evaluate isolated unstable ligamentous CSI following a negative CT. The use of MR imaging to evaluate the discoligamentous complex and document unstable ligamentous CSI is also discussed.
