This presentation will refresh nuclear medicine technologists on the importance of appropriate quality control of a dose calibrator. More quality control is performed on a dose calibrator than any other machine in nuclear medicine. Without a properly functioning dose calibrator, patients cannot be guaranteed a safe and effective dose; and no test can be performed. There are four primary testing procedures performed: Accuracy, Constancy, Geometry and Linearity. Techniques for each will be discussed along with frequency of performance and record maintenance.
