This article discusses the techniques radiomics uses to extract quantitative features from imaging, and how radiomics from a pretreatment assessment of kidney cancer may provide additional information for subtyping and tumor biology of renal cell carcinoma. The ways in which radiomics may assist in predicting response to systemic therapy are also discussed.
