Neuroimaging plays a vital role in acute stroke assessment. Both CT and MR imaging inform clinical decisions relative to treatment and therapy, maximizing optimal outcomes. The modalities are not interchangeable, but rather each contributes unique information that leads to a broader understanding of symptoms and more accurate diagnoses. In this presentation, the value of CT and MR will be explored relative to the workup of acute ischemic stroke.
