Implanted medical devices are frequently encountered when screening patients for MR imaging examinations. Though many devices are perfectly safe, others can pose a very high risk for causing injury or death when exposed to the static magnetic field, the radiofrequency field, or the gradient magnetic fields. In this presentation, participants will learn how to manage screening patients for implanted devices, and how to mitigate the risks for scanning patients with MRI-conditional and non-MRI conditional implanted devices.
