This presentation covers the documentation, coding, and compliance aspects of IMRT and appropriate selection of CPT codes for both photon and proton treatments. Reimbursement obstacles, as well as the associated treatment devices, modifiers, IGRT options, and codes will be covered. We will review the staff responsible for each area of documentation, including physicians, radiation therapists, dosimetrists, and physicists. Relevant examples are discussed in relation to risk management and ensuring appropriate reporting and reimbursement.
