MR image production relies on a complex partnership between computers and instrumentation that largely occurs in the background during image acquisition. The MRI technologist must have a basic understanding of how MRI signals are spatially located before being translated into an image by the computer. This presentation breaks down the complexities of k-space and frequency- and phase-encoding, and thereby supports the MRI technologist’s ability to produce high-quality images.
