This quiz is the companion to the Directed Reading article "Using MR Imaging to Assess Fetal Neurological Pathologies".
Fetal magnetic resonance (MR) imaging has evolved into a valuable complementary diagnostic tool when sonography findings are inconclusive. Technological advances in MR imaging pulse sequences have made it possible to obtain quality images from fetal imaging. The ability of MR imaging to create higher resolution images is useful in fetal neural imaging to characterize malformations, hemorrhages, and other pathologies. Although no evidence supports the concerns that MR imaging harms fetuses, caution should still be taken.
