This presentation will discuss the theory and process behind radioimmunotherapy procedures, specifically In-111/Y-90 Zevalin therapy and I-131 Tositumomab therapy for Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. The effects of ionizing radiation on cells will be briefly discussed leading into the therapy procedures. The effectiveness of the Antigen-Antibody reaction will be described along with the Human Anti-Mouse Antibody (HAMA) response that is associated with radioimmunotherapy procedures. Normal vs. Altered Bio-distribution of the radionuclides will be described along with corresponding treatment dosages and exposure rates.
