This presentation will cover Positron Emission Tomography (PET) detector operation. Camera components such as the crystal types, detector rings, PMTs, timing circuitry and more are covered. Annihilation reactions are discussed along with the differentiation between a true coincidence event, random event and singles events. Two-dimensional and three-dimensional imaging will be distinguished, as well as Limited, Whole Body and Total Body imaging.
