This chapter discusses the many quality assurance procedures performed in nuclear medicine. It discusses energy resolution and photopeaking, counting rate limits, field uniformity, spatial resolution and linearity, sensitivity and multiple-window spatial registration. Quality assurance programs for single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT), positron emission tomography (PET) technology and radiopharmacy are also presented.
