This presentation will explore the challenges of modern human trafficking, and the role of health care providers in identifying and protecting the victims of trafficking. Concepts associated with defining trafficking will be covered, as well as methods for identifying those vulnerable to human trafficking. Health impacts of trafficking will be described, as well as trauma-informed practices to care for victims of trafficking. Many of the common myths associated with human trafficking will also be discussed and discredited.
