Rheumatic diseases are autoimmune and inflammatory diseases that cause the immune system to attack joints, muscles, bones, and organs. Conventional radiography is the mainstay for initial evaluation and follow up for rheumatic disease. It is the most common and least expensive modality to image patients with arthritic disorders, particularly for evaluating the hands, wrists, feet, and sacroiliac joints.
This quiz is the companion to the column, "Imaging Arthritis," which appears in the September/October 2021 Radiologic Technology journal.
