The main goal of primary total hip arthroplasty (THA) is to relieve pain and restore normal hip function. Implant selection and positioning are crucial in minimizing complications from surgery, as well ensuring a good functional outcome. The modern approach to THA is a targeted strategy using 3D CT to aid in diagnosis, surgical planning, and treatment. This presentation will cover optimal implant sizing and positioning during surgery, as well as robotic assistance, navigation, and the use of patient-specific implants.
