Mammography has always been the Gold Standard for breast cancer screening. Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (DBT) is a promising new option for even the smallest breast cancers. This presentation will introduce you to DBT and describe how it reveals slices through the breast, enabling the radiologist to visualize the breast in multiple 1 mm thick slices. We will discuss the four FDA-approved manufacturers on the market today and the various features of DBT units. The tomosynthesis biopsy option will also be covered.
