Radiographers typically understand the fundamentals of x-ray beam geometry, and, as a result, when possible, will avoid angulation of an x-ray tube to avoid introducing shape distortion into an image. Less understood is the fact that the x-ray tube rotates around the focal spot. An understanding of this principle can be applied to clinical radiography to enhance imaging and provide radiographic projections typically thought to be unattainable.
This quiz is the companion to the column, "Appreciating X-ray Beam Geometry And Clinical Applications for Using Tube Angulation," which appears in the January/February 2022 Radiologic Technology journal.
This activity may be available in multiple formats or from different sponsors. ARRT regulations state that an individual may not repeat a self-learning activity for credit if it was reported in the same biennium.
