Radiographers typically understand the fundamentals of x-ray beam geometry, and, as a result, when possible, will avoid angulation of an x-ray tube to avoid introducing shape distortion into an image. Less understood is the fact that the x-ray tube rotates around the focal spot. An understanding of this principle can be applied to clinical radiography to enhance imaging and provide radiographic projections typically thought to be unattainable.
