Imaging pediatric patients poses unique challenges. Although optimizing computed tomography protocols is critical to the success of a pediatric radiology program, understanding the emotional needs of pediatric patients is equally important. Technologists need specific strategies for improving the imaging experience and overall image quality for pediatric patients. Imaging professionals should have a strong understanding of radiation dose management, including technical factors and protocol. They also need to manage the anxiety of young patients and their caregivers.
This quiz is the companion to the short report, "Improving Imaging Outcomes for Pediatric Patients," which appears in the May/June 2022 Radiologic Technology journal.
