Dr. Ryan Smith, D.H.Sc., M.B.A., CNMT
This presentation will cover gamma camera functionality, including spectrometer operation which includes single and multi-channel analyzers, as well as the operation of the cathode ray tube and the variable persistence oscilloscope. The method by which the photo multiplier tubes (PMTs) are arranged with respect to the crystal and how the summing matrix circuit quantifies the light production will also be discussed. The attendee will develop an understanding of how these individual camera components operate, the role each component plays in the imaging detection process, and how the gamma camera creates synergy amongst the individual components.
