This presentation will cover various nuclear medicine bone imaging procedures. Cellular structure and the composition of bone will be discussed, along with the role of the diphosphonates used in medical imaging. Differences between limited bone scans, whole (total) body bone scans, three-phase bone scans, and Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography bone scans will be discussed and compared, along with various technical concerns associated with imaging.
