This presentation will discuss the creation of radioactivity using nuclear reactors, linear accelerators, cyclotrons, and generator production. The Chernobyl accident will be described, and how that event led to various regulatory and design changes. Transient equilibrium vs. secular equilibrium generators will be identified, along with different radionuclide generator systems. Quality control of radiopharmaceutical production will also be discussed.
