This presentation will introduce a few of the basic concepts of MRI physics. We will discuss how the RF pulse that is applied affects protons and how we collect echoes. We will review basic pulse timing parameters such as TR and TE, as well as evaluate popular pulse sequences that are routinely used within the clinical setting. Additionally, we will briefly evaluate K-space and how we fill K-space during image formation. Participants will review of protocol parameters and the results of adjusting these parameters. Lastly, we will discuss phase and frequency gradients.
