Radiation safety and protection in fluoroscopy has become a national topic. This presentation will demonstrate the technical aspects of fluoroscopy in the operating room and general fluoroscopy rooms. We will cover the adverse events and biologic effects of radiation, how radiation changes as it goes through the body, units of radiation and the inverse square law. How to properly move a C-arm in and out and end up in the same place, and increasing SID and OID will also be covered.
