This article lists the connections between epidemiological factors and a patient’s personal history of breast cancer, as well as the risk factors associated with a family history of breast cancer. The connection of genetic predisposition to the etiology of specific breast cancers is also discussed, along with the importance of documenting medical history and clinical findings to diagnosis and treatment of hereditary breast disease.
