Osteogenesis imperfecta is a generalized disorder of the body’s connective tissue. Although the most obvious symptom of the disease is fragile bones, it also can affect the ligaments, tendons, fascia, eyes, skin, teeth and ears.
This article describes the major clinical signs of osteogenesis imperfecta and discusses the role medical imaging plays in diagnosis and treatment. In addition, the article gives practical strategies for imaging patients with osteogenesis imperfecta.
