Central nervous system (CNS) tumors are the second most common type of childhood cancer and differ from adult CNS tumors in terms of histology, behavior, and treatment. Pediatric CNS tumors require a multimodality treatment regimen that can cause long-term adverse effects. Careful consideration must be given to choosing a treatment plan, depending on the histology, grade, location of the tumor, and the patient’s age.
