This presentation covers the venous vascular system, including a review of upper and lower extremity vascular anatomy. Vascular scan techniques and sonographic protocols are explained, focusing on sonographic evaluation of the lower extremity venous system. Deep venous thrombosis in particular is described. Techniques are provided for sonographers to communicate critical findings to the radiologist.
